The counselling process is organized by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot for candidates who have qualified for the NEET PG examination. Through this counselling process, candidates can secure admission to Punjab State Quota postgraduate medical seats in both government and private medical colleges. Eligibility Criteria for Punjab NEET PG Counselling

Candidates must fulfill the following conditions to participate in the counselling:

  • NEET PG Qualification: Candidates must qualify for the NEET PG 2026 examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations.
  • MBBS Degree: Applicants must have completed MBBS from a recognized medical college approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
  • Internship Completion: Candidates must complete their one-year compulsory rotatory internship before the prescribed deadline.
  • Medical Registration: Applicants must have permanent or provisional registration with NMC or State Medical Council.

The tuition fees for postgraduate medical courses vary depending on college type and branch category (clinical or non-clinical).

Note: Clinical branches generally include MD General Medicine, MD Radiology, MD Dermatology, MS Orthopedics, MS General Surgery, MD Pediatrics, etc. Non-clinical branches include MD Anatomy, MD Physiology, MD Biochemistry, MD Pharmacology, MD Microbiology, etc.

Students admitted to postgraduate medical courses in Punjab are required to fulfill a compulsory service bond after completion of the course.

Note: If a candidate does not complete the mandatory service, they must pay the bond penalty amount as per government rules.

The counselling process consists of the following steps:

  • Step 1 – Online Registration: Candidates must register on the official BFUHS counselling portal and fill their details.
  • Step 2 – Fee Payment: Pay the registration fee and security deposit online.
  • Step 3 – Merit List Release: BFUHS releases a state merit list based on NEET PG scores.
  • Step 4 – Choice Filling: Candidates must select and lock their preferred courses and medical colleges.
